Twenty years ago, Kenneth Cole wanted to open a shoe company with limited money. In order to show his shoes during the shoe show, he got a 40ft trailer truck and parked it in New York City and pretended to shoot a movie so that he could get a parking permit. He sold 40,000 pairs of shoes in 2 and a half days and then the company was off and running. Kenneth Cole has become a forerunner for fashion and trends while also being socially conscious and living by the principle that "what you stand for is more important than what you stand in."
