Urban Expressions was founded in 2005 by two high school friends, Farbod Shakouri & Kyle Vojdani. After graduating from rival universities USC and UCLA, the friends reunited and began conceptualizing an innovative business model. With a shared entrepreneurial spirit and recognition of consumers’ desire for chic, eco and animal friendly fashion, Farbod and Kyle set out to create a company with compassion. Undaunted by their lack of experience in the fashion industry, they launched Urban Expressions. All of their products are 100% certified vegan and cross-promoted through PETA. They also were one of the first companies in the industry to comply with California’s Prop. 65, producing lead compliant handbags. Urban Expressions is dedicated to bringing to the market high-fashion handbags that are environmentally and socially compliant.
